Wanted to learn to defend myself and for exercise

Are there any accomplishments in Martial Arts or in your life you would like to
mention?
My 1st year I have won several first place trophies.  The best was winning
Grand Champion in Lincoln MO.  I took 2nd overall in forms, 3rd in sparring,
and 5th in weapons, all in my first year of competing in the M.M.A.S.C.

It looked fun and it beats video games!

I have made new friends and won many awards, it also taught me how to
defend myself.

mention?
I won a first place trophy at my first tournament.  I have won forms
championships in 2007 and 2008 in the M.M.A.S.C.!

Softball, football, playing video games, collecting eagles, and playing outside.

What motivated you to start taking Martial Arts?
My mom's friend is the instructor, so we went and started together!

It has made me more confident, patient, and respectful.

Karate Flag and Fighting!

My mom and grandma!

Martial Arts?
My son, and getting in better shape.

I have more faith in myself, more
confidence, and I'm getting in better shape!

Three months.

The people, the sparring, and pushing myself to a place that I never thought
I could reach.  It also allows my son and I to spend time together.

I like Martial Arts the most, but
some other hobbies I like are
basketball, soccer, and choir.

What motivated you to start
taking Martial Arts?
When I went to school open house
I seen a Martial Arts sign and so I
asked my mom if my twin sister and I
could start Karate.  She said yes!

How has the Martial Arts changed
your life?
Because I used to like soccer the most, and now I like Karate the most!

How long have you been involved
in the Martial Arts?
About 1.5 years.

What is your favorite part of the Martial Arts?
I like weapons, kata, sparring and last is learning Japanese!

My mom, my dad, stepmom and sibling influenced me the most.

Friends told me about it and I got interested,
so I signed up with my twin brother who is
in the picture above!  :-)

How has the Martial Arts changed your life?
Now my favorite sport is Karate, and it used
to be soccer.  And all my friends think of
me different.

How long have you been involved in the Martial Arts?

I enjoy music and photography.  
I love to write; I want to be a writer.

What motivated you to start taking
Martial Arts?
My dad says that when I was little I
watched a Jackie Chan movie and
told him I wanted to take Karate.  
He thought it would only last two
weeks; that will soon be seven
years ago.

How has the Martial Arts changed your life?
I've gained so much self-confidence.  My Martial Arts training has made me
stronger both mentally and physically.  And, if I ever get into a physical attack
or a fight, I will know how to protect myself.  I've learned how to use many
weapons, such as the Bo, Kamas, and Oriental Fans.  I've had some sword
training too.

How long have you been involved in the Martial Arts?
Since I was 8 years old.

What is your favorite part of the Martial Arts?
Fighting!!!  I also enjoy meeting people and making new friends from
different schools and watching the different styles at tournaments.

What people in your life have influenced you the most?
Hmmm, my daddy! My instructor Grandmaster Richard Osborn Sr., and
previous instructors, Master Kevin Luttrell and Grandmaster Mok Hoe Ku
have been a big influence in my Martial Arts career.

Are you excited to have your bio featured on the competitor page on
mmasc.net?  Well of course I am.  Who wouldn't be?  :-)

Are there any accomplishments in Martial Arts or in your life you would like to
mention?
I think reaching black belt at such an early age is a big accomplishment for
anyone.  I'm very proud of all my accomplishments, particularly my Kukkiwon
certifications, and induction into the M.M.A.S.C. Hall of Fame, Ozzie's Crew
Hall of Fame, and Action Martial Arts Magazine's Hall of Honors, as
Competitor of the Year.  In 2005, I qualified for the U.S. International Martial
Arts Team.
